Ja Morant is looking like a superstar in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. He is admirably leading his team through a grueling second-round against former champions in the Golden State Warriors. But he is still a 21-year-old player that is going up against 3-time champions in Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, and Draymond Green.
One day prior to the Memphis Grizzlies’ facing the Golden State Warriors in the Chase Center, a video of Morant sampling the nightlife around the city made its rounds on social media. Ja was hanging out at the Valencia Room, a nightclub in San Francisco. After seeing the young Grizzlies’ star party the night before a playoff game, a Warriors fan casually let everyone know that the Grizz would lose by 30 points.
Funnily enough, the Grizzlies lost by that exact margin in a game where Ja Morant got hurt allegedly by Jordan Poole. The final score was 112-142, as Golden State absolutely romped Memphis to take a 2-1 series lead.

The prediction being as accurate as it was has caused this post to go viral on Twitter. This has opened Morant up for criticism, as it is well-known how acts like these aren’t always accepted by fans during the playoffs. There was a time when players would get hate for even using social media during the playoffs, but nowadays, players are doing most of the trash-talking on social media.
Morant was extremely active on Twitter after the Game 3 loss. Along with that, his knee injury has his status in question for Game 4 as the Grizz look to avoid falling down 3-1 in the series.
The likelihood of another spot-on pick by a fan like that is low, as he probably meant to say 30 points as an exaggeration. But if there’s ever a time to exaggerate, it most definitely was the right choice to do so in this case.
