Kevin Durant seems to have something against Clippers fans on X. Earlier this week, he engaged in a heavy back-and-forth with a Clippers fan named ‘Dime Dropper’ on X. And now, following that beef, he has taken another Clippers fan’s opinions personally.

Clippers’ fan ‘@JacobtheClipper’ called out Durant on X for beefing with his fellow Clippers fan and said that Kobe Bryant “clears” Durant when it came to scoring, especially in Olympic Gold Medal games.

Durant did not like what he read and responded to Jacob on X.

“Mamba is one of my idols, I love him, but I averaged at least 20 a game in gold medal games. Had a 30-piece nugget with Kobe on the floor, actually. History lessons aren’t a sign of insecurity, you choosing to forget is!! Have a Good day, Jakob.”

Durant gave his idol his flowers, but gave a small history lesson to the critic on social media. In 2008, when Durant was not on the USA Olympic team roster, Bryant dropped 20 points in the gold medal game, but Dwyane Wade led all scorers with 27 points in that game.

In 2012, when Durant played on the USA Olympic Team for the first time, he dropped 30 points in the gold medal game to give the Lakers’ legend his second and final Olympic gold medal. Durant went on to win three more to bring his gold medal tally to four by the end of the 2024 Olympics.

He dropped 30 points in 2016 and 29 points in the 2020 gold medal game as well to lead all scorers on each occasion. Clearly, Bryant was never the best scorer on the floor with Team USA, while Durant did it three times.

Just because he played like a good teammate and passed the ball to Stephen Curry, who was hot in the 2024 gold medal game, does not diminish the greatness of his own prime years.

Kevin Durant Chose To Stand On Business

Durant continued to respond to fans on X in reference to this comment about Kobe Bryant.

“Every time I respond to Jake, u get rage baited,” said Durant after a fan claimed he got rage baited into commenting.

“This is a public forum; there are many of Jacob’s out there. I’m spreading the gospel, brother,” the Rockets’ superstar wrote when fans asked him to stop giving ‘clowns’ attention.

Fans even tried to turn the tables on Durant and call him “insecure” for thinking he is the greatest player of all time. Durant called him out for trying to put words in his mouth.

“Link me to where I said I was the goat,” said Durant.

When the fan dropped the link to the comment he was referring to, it clearly said that Durant wrote it was his “fantasy” to be the greatest player of all time. Clearly, the fan misunderstood his comment.

It’s like a poor man dreaming of owning a sports car. One is allowed to dream that one has a sports car. Now, whether or not he is actually capable of buying or driving the car is a separate question of real circumstances. But that does not invalidate him from fantasizing that he owns a sports car.

Now, of course, Durant is not a poor man in this case; he is arguably one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball. But he never claimed that he is the greatest player of all time in basketball, in reality.
