Nikola Jokic is quite possibly the best passing big man in NBA history, and he is definitely among the best players in the league this season. Currently, Nikola Jokic is averaging 25.9 PPG, 13.8 RPG, and 8.1 APG while shooting 57.3% from the field and 36.3% from beyond the arc.

There is no doubt that Nikola Jokic has been putting together an MVP-caliber season. Without Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., the Denver Nuggets have heavily relied on him on the offensive end. Nikola Jokic is clearly a fantastic player, and coach George Karl even called him the greatest player in Nuggets franchise history.

There have been some Nuggets greats- Bobby Jones, David Thompson, Alex English, Mutombo, Melo.

Jokic is the best.

Most recently, Nikola Jokic put on a show against the Golden State Warriors, putting up a 32 point triple-double and leading the Denver Nuggets to a win. He clearly impressed Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who claimed that Nikola Jokic should win this season’s MVP award and lauded the big man for making defense “so difficult” and elevating his teammates.

“He was spectacular tonight. Makes all of his teammates better, he makes defense so difficult and he’s playing the game at such an easy pace.”

There is no doubt that Nikola Jokic would deserve the MVP if he won, but there are other very deserving candidates in the league. Players such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid are also putting together some monster seasons, and it looks as though this MVP race will end up going down to the wire.

Hopefully, we see Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. return from their injuries prior to the end of the season, to lessen the offensive load on Nikola Jokic. The Denver Nuggets are a contender when fully healthy, and no one will want to face Nikola Jokic in the playoffs.
