Tyler Herro has been a high-volume scorer for the Miami Heat coming off the bench this season. He is a guard with the ability to create his own shot from the perimeter, and many would consider him the favorite to win the Sixth Man of the Year award this season. Currently, Tyler Herro is averaging 20.0 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 3.9 APG, while shooting 37.4% from beyond the arc.

There is no question that Tyler Herro has been playing well, and there are definitely some who believe he should have been an All-Star. One of those people is an Eastern Conference scout, who claimed that Herro “got screwed out of the All-Star Game”, and added that he wouldn’t give up Tyler Herro in a trade package for All-Star Bradley Beal this summer. Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald relayed the news.

▪Eastern scout on Tyler Herro: “He got screwed out of the All-Star Game. He should have been there. He’s the league’s best sixth man this year, an All Star level player. The fact he can now create his own shot and make it has taken him to a whole other level. Lou Williams won the sixth man award [three times], and Herro is better than Lou Williams.”

The scout said: “I would not give up Herro [in a package] for [Bradley] Beal this summer. The talent differential is not big enough to do that now. And Beal struggled this year” on threes, shooting 30 percent.

It is clear that Tyler Herro has been playing well, and he could potentially get even better in the future. Giving him up right now would be a mistake, as he seems as though he is on an upward trajectory. Tyler Herro has notably claimed that he is on the same level as superstars such as Ja Morant and Trae Young in the past, and while that may not be quite accurate right now, he has definitely put in the work to get better.

The Miami Heat are currently the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, and Tyler Herro has played a big role in making that happen. Hopefully, we see them make a deep playoff run, and perhaps we’ll see them get back to the Finals and finish the job.
