LeBron James Reacts To Brilliant Footage Of Him Dominating As A 16-Year-Old: “I Wish I Still Had That Nappy Afro!”

2 Min Read

LeBron James has been creating highlights since he was a teenager in high school. Dubbed the Chosen One, James has been catching the eye of scouts from a young age and is one of those once-in-a-lifetime players that has managed to live up to the hype and then some. His highlight reels are the stuff of legend, and the man himself has seen a lot of them, but he recently came across one from when he was much younger than had somehow slipped his attention before this point.

At the age of 16, LeBron went to ABCD Training Camp, where he supposedly dominated the No. 1 player at the event. His performance drew the eye of everyone that was watching, with many commenting on how the young LeBron was ‘quite nice’ and had a lot of talent. The King himself reacted to this video on Twitter, although the thing he seemingly misses the most about his youth is his hair.

“Wow! Never seen some of this footage before. Well I wish I still had that Nappy Afro!”

LeBron famously went to St. Vincent’s-St. Mary’s for high school, where he led them to multiple Ohio State titles. He was selected to the USA Today All-USA First Team as a sophomore (the first sophomore to be selected) and averaged 29 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game. By the time his high school run was over, LeBron had established himself as the best prospect in the country.

This saw the King drafted with the No. 1 overall pick by his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers and the rest, as they say, is history. LeBron would go on to win 4 NBA championships, making it to the NBA Finals on 10 occasions, the first coming as early as 2007. After everything that he has garnered through his many years as a superstar at the highest level though, his hair does seem to be the thing James could do the least about.
