An NBA Coach On Tampering In Orlando: ‘The Next Superteam Will Come Out Of This. I Believe It’s Inevitable.’

It’s fair to say the 2010s was the decades of superteams in the NBA. The Miami Heat, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors were the biggest proof of that and although not every team had the same success, GMs really got to work to put together the biggest amount of stars trying to win a championship.

The last superteam in the league were the Warriors. After Kevin Durant left the Bay to join the Brooklyn Nets last season, that is part of the past. The anatomy of the league changed, now teams rely on duos to claim the title, but the superteam era could make a return sooner than we initially expected.

According to Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports, one NBA coach is convinced that the tampering inside the bubble will allow teams to create super squads once again.

“The next super team will come out of this,” he told Yahoo Sports. “I believe it’s inevitable.”

“Guys wanna play in the now, but they’re also looking ahead,” he said. “They know it’s a lot of money at stake for the immediate future and for way down the line.”

Obviously, recruiting players is not the biggest focus for anybody right now. There is a competition to play and players are fully focused on that. However, the opportunity will be there to have conversations and try to convince a certain player to sign with a certain team in the offseason or even to push for a trade.

One of the biggest names that teams will pursue this offseason and the following is Giannis Antetokounmpo. He’s stated he’s committed to the Milwaukee Bucks but teams like the Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors and even the Lakers have been linked with the Greek Freak.

There are other pieces of interest in the bubble that other stars will try to recruit. It’s unclear how the league will try to prevent these activities but that is inevitably going to happen.
