Andre Drummond’s arrival in L.A. couldn’t have come at a better time for the Lakers. With LeBron and Anthony Davis struggling with injury, and the Nets having compiled a superteam, Dre pulls the Purple and Gold one step closer towards meeting their goal to repeat as NBA Champions.

In his first press conference as a Laker, the 2x All-Star explain his decision, citing his belief that it’s the best fit.

Drummond on choosing Lakers: "I thought it was the best fit. I made my decision what was best for me not what others were telling me.''

— Marc Berman (@NYPost_Berman) March 29, 2021

Drummond also responded to a legendary Tweet from before he was in the league, in which he expressed his dream to play with LeBron James — a dream that has snow been realized:

It will obviously take time for Drummond to mesh with his new squad, and there are no guarantees that things will work out. But, for now, his arrival makes for some welcome news for a Lakers team that has been bombarded with challenges all season long.

Let’s see if they can close the deal at least one more time in this LeBron James era.
