Andre Drummond Will Make Just $794,536 With The Los Angeles Lakers

Well, you know what they say: The rich always get richer. At least, that’s what happened to the Los Angeles Lakers, who recently added Andre Drummond to an already impressive roster featuring LeBron James and Anthony Davis, you may have heard of them.

But perhaps the most impressive thing about this signing is the fact that they managed to land a player like Drummond on perhaps the biggest bargain you’ll ever come across.

As a matter of fact, Andre Drummond will make less than one million dollars with the purple and gold, and agreed to sign for them for just the amount he gave back in his buyout agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers:

“The contract for Andre Drummond in Los Angeles is the amount- $794,536- that he gave back in his buyout with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Lakers will have a $554,988 cap hit. The Lakers are $954,349 below the hard cap and have enough room to sign a 15th player,” Bobby Marks of ESPN tweeted.

It’s a win-win for Andre Drummond, who’ll finally play for a championship contender, and for the Lakers, as they now have enough money and flexibility to add another veteran to their roster.

It seems impossible to think that the league’s active leader in 20/20 games will sign with a team for less than $800,000 and the most incredible part is that the Cleveland Cavaliers had to give him nearly $28 million just to get him off their books. But hey, that’s just the way it is in this merciless business.
