On paper, the Golden State Warriors look like one of the best teams in the West. Steph Curry is an MVP candidate, Jordan Poole has emerged as a go-to scorer, and the Dubs have a 7-1 record through 8 games so far.
Still, despite it all, long-time NBA veteran Andre Iguodala refused to hype his team up after their most recent victory.
Instead, he tampered expectations, reminding fans that they still have a lot of work to do.
“We’re OK. We’re a work-in-progress,” Iguodala told reporters after Friday’s game. “We’ve had a more favorable schedule, so I don’t think you look too much into it. We’re doing what we’re supposed to do. That says a lot. There’s a lot of talent in this league and you’ve seen some pretty interesting comebacks. I think there was a big one tonight, the Milwaukee-New York game. There is something to taking care of the games you’re supposed to take care of.
So we’ve got to finish off the home stretch and continue to have the right mindset in terms of not looking at our record but looking at how we’re playing and how we’re improving through each game.”

Following their 2019 run to the Finals, the Warriors have been a shell of themselves, posting a combined 54-83 record over the past two seasons.
But with new weapons to utilize and health finally on their side, Golden State finds themselves in the Championship conversation once again.
Off to a West-leading 7-1 start, they’re proving right off the bat that they’re ready to challenge anyone.
Unfortunately, just 8 games in, nobody knows for sure just how good they really are.
If they want to prove themselves as contenders and earn the fear of their opponents again, the Dubs are going to have to stay the course and keep winning games.
There’s still a whole lot left to prove.
