Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard And JaVale McGee Had Only Four Rebounds In Game 3 vs. The Nuggets

2 Min Read

The Los Angeles Lakers had a rough night against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night, losing their first game of the series after Jamal Murray had a terrific night in the Orlando bubble. Besides Murray going off with 28 points, 12 assists, and 8 rebounds, the Lakers have to look inside themselves to see what went wrong during Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.

Their big men had one job and they mightily failed at it last night, recording only 4 total rebounds shared between three players. In the Nuggets 114-106 victory, Anthony Davis, JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard combined for four rebounds.

Davis played most part of the game, 42 minutes, only grabbing two rebounds. McGee played eight minutes, grabbing only one board, while Howard did the same in 14 minutes. This is something Frank Vogel needs to fix ahead of Game 4.

They are going against a dangerous team that will make them pay every little mistake they make. The Lakers need to be careful and make the right adjustments to prevent this from happening again. Still, their biggest threats are Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic and as long as they don’t stop them, the rebounds can play a key role in the final outcome of this series.
