Anthony Edwards is one of the brightest young talents in the league, and there’s no question that he has superstar potential. He has a productive season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, averaging 21.3 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 3.8 APG and leading them to the playoffs.

There is no doubt that every player’s goal in the offseason is to try and get better, and that is no different for Anthony Edwards. In an interview with Zion Olojede of Complex, Edwards was asked about his expectations for next season on an individual level. He stated that he wants to be “an All-Star Starter”, and added that he also wants to “go deep into the playoffs”.

Going into your third season, what are your expectations individually?

Me personally, I want to be an All-Star Starter. I want my averages to go up. I want to win a lot of games and go deep into the playoffs.

The Minnesota Timberwolves lost in the first round against the Memphis Grizzlies, but it was clear that the Timberwolves challenged the Grizzlies at times, and they clearly had a shot at winning the series. Perhaps we will see them get deeper than the first round next year, and the acquisition of Rudy Gobert will likely help with that fact. It is clear that the franchise believes in the star duo of Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns, and hopefully, they are able to get to the next level as a team and make a championship run.

There have been many people who have been high on Anthony Edwards’ potential, with some even comparing him to Michael Jordan. While it is unlikely that Anthony Edwards will end up becoming as good of a player as Michael Jordan, there’s no question that he looks as though he’ll have a long career playing at a top-tier level.
