Boston Celtics Are The Only Team Who Have A Winning Record Against The Golden State Warriors Since Their Dynasty Began In 2014-15

The 2022 NBA Finals are now closer than ever. After a long season that initially featured 30 teams in hopes of lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy, we are finally down to the last two.

In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors comfortably defeated the Dallas Mavericks and advanced to their sixth NBA Finals in the last eight years. On the other hand, in the Eastern Conference, the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics engaged in a hard-fought 7-game series. After seven games, the Celtics qualified for a chance at winning the title.

This will lead to an intense battle between the experienced superstars of the Warriors against the young bloods of the Celtics. Most people have picked the Warriors as the favorites to win the NBA Finals.

After all, the Dubs feature the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, etc. But NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor recently pointed out a stat that is quite shocking:

“Warriors-Celtics should be epic. Boston is the only team in the NBA with a winning record against Golden State since the dynasty began. The defense is good enough to win the series. But the offense can’t slow it down and stop running sets so often like they did again in Game 7.”

The dynasty of the Warriors began back during the 2014-15 NBA season. Since then, despite winning three titles, the Warriors have a losing record against the Celtics. To be precise, the head-to-head record between the two teams stands at 9-7.

Like O’Connor mentioned, the Celtics indeed have a very good defense and can be a huge nightmare for many teams on a regular basis. But the Warriors have years of experience playing in the NBA Finals under their belt.

So when it comes to a best-of-seven series, we certainly feel like the Warriors will be the winners. But the Celtics might just shock the world in the NBA Finals.
