Brian Windhorst Believes The Nets Would Trade Kyrie Irving For Jrue Holiday If An Opportunity Comes Their Way: “He Was Awesome Next To Kevin Durant.”

NBA analyst Brian Windhorst says the Brooklyn Nets should trade Kyrie Irving for Jrue Holiday. He believes Holiday will be a much player alongside KD than Kyrie.

After a lot of drama, the Brooklyn Nets finally seem ready to enter the 2022-23 NBA season as one of the contenders to win the 2023 NBA Championship. For a while, most thought that the Nets might have to rebuild due to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving both rumored to be leaving the franchise.

Fortunately, that didn’t happen, and the Nets are all set for the new season with a great roster. But there’s still one loose thread on the team. It’s none other than the star guard of the Nets, Kyrie Irving.

It has been reported several times that there’s a lack of trust between Kyrie and the Nets. Some say it’s because he disrespected coach Steve Nash and GM Sean Marks. At the same time, others believe that Kyrie doesn’t have good synergy with his teammates.

NBA Insider Suggests A Smart Trade For The Brooklyn Nets

As of now, there is no word about the Nets planning to trade Kyrie Irving. If anything, they want to trust their Big 3 of Kai, KD, and Ben Simmons.

But NBA insider Brian Windhorst recently suggested a trade for the Brooklyn Nets that would send Kyrie Irving to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Jrue Holiday.

(Starts at 1:08):

“I think if you called the Nets and gave them a truth serum and said, if you could trade Kyrie for Jrue Holiday right now they would. The reason I think he’s ranked higher is because he’s an A+ defender. I saw him play alongside Kevin Durant when the Americans won the gold medal in Tokyo last year. He was awesome next to Kevin Durant.”

Windhorst made this claim after seeing Holiday share the court with Kevin Durant during the Olympics.

Holiday is one of the top defensive guards in the league. He proved his worth by helping Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks win the 2021 NBA Championship. But will the Nets make this move? Highly unlikely as of now.
