As the son of NBA royalty, Bronny James has the attention of the entire basketball world leading up to his college debut. This weekend, James Jr. made his latest appearance in his team’s basketball threads, where he was caught preparing for a photo shoot on USC’s media day.

“Should I hit an actual yell or a silent one?,” asked James to the cameras. “Cause I can hit a really good silent one.”

The first thing to notice of the bat is Bronny James’ jersey number. With the no. 6 plastered on the front, he’s following in the footsteps of his father, who wore the same number during his stint with the Heat and some seasons with the Lakers. Instead of separating himself from LeBron’s legacy, he seems to be embracing his past and the guy who paved the way for his future NBA career. Another thing to note is Bronny’s positive vibes despite coming off a summer of major health scares. He’s been all smiles during public appearances with the team and there is a sense that he could be on the verge of a breakout season.

Bronny James Is One Step Away

For years, the community has been split on the potential of Bronny. According to some claims, LeBron’s youngest son, Bryce, is actually the better player and he could make a bigger impact than his older brother. But the jury is still out on Bronny’s game and he has shown flashes of stardom before. While only averaging 13.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 steals per game as a senior, Bronny has been praised for his strength and athleticism. While admittedly undersized for the position, Bronny boasts an explosive quickness that holds up on both ends of the floor.

At just 19 years old, it’s impossible to predict the trajectory of Bronny’s basketball career but teams are bound to take a chance on him given his talent, genetics, and the promise that his dad will follow him to wherever he lands. This season, for the Trojans, we will get the chance to see what Bronny is really capable of and this season will very likely set the stage for his future NBA career.

LeBron Vows To Join His Son In The NBA

As a 19x All-Star, 4x champion, and 4x MVP, LeBron James has nothing left to prove in the NBA.  At 38 years old, we know that the end is close for King James but there’s still one thing he aims to do before stepping away forever: become teammates with his own son. Win or lose in 2024, LeBron knows what he wants to do and he’s already explained his plans to pursue a potential NBA partnership with Bronny.

To date, James Jr. is projected to be a mid-level first-round pick, meaning that it’s virtually impossible to say with any certainty where he’ll end up. But between his time at USC, a lifetime of training in the gym, and the guidance of one of the best players ever, the stage is set for Bronny to exceed expectations and live up to the James family name. Now that his heart problems have been resolved, nothing is stopping this kid from chasing his dreams and he seems to really be enjoying the ride so far…
