Trash talk is nothing that NBA players aren’t used to, part of what makes the game so exciting is when two players go at one another and spur each other to play better on the court. However, listening to a fellow athlete talking smack to you is one thing, but dealing with heckling fans is quite another. And while players mostly keep their cool with fans talking smack, they are only human and occasionally react.

Chris Chiozza of the Golden State Warriors got into it with a fan on Twitter after the fan called out Steve Kerr for giving Chiozza minutes on the court. The fan threatened to ‘pull up’ on both Kerr and Chiozza if the former played the latter and Chiozza responded by dropping his address challenging the fan.

Sneakerrluv: “Steve Kerr, I better not see Chris Chiozza lil a** on the floor tonight, or I’m pulling up on both of y’all.”

Chris Chiozza: “You want the addy?”

SneakerrLuv: “Yeah send it.”

Chris Chiozza: “33 Tehama St, San Francisco, CA 94105, United States.”

This is a power move from Chiozza, he’s telling the fan on social media to back his words up in real life. There’s no way to know if that’s the player’s actual address but if it is, this might not have been the best idea the Warriors man has ever had. He may get fined for this interaction as well, similar to what happened to Jusuf Nurkic, although Nurk’s incident happened in person

Fans being disrespectful to players is nothing new, but engaging with them in this fashion is likely not going to lead to anything good for Chiozza. Raising the level of play on the court is the best way to answer haters like these but it’s also understandable if a player has had enough after a point. With Steph Curry out for a while, Chiozza has the chance to step up and earn some valuable minutes with the team.
