At the start of the 2022-23 NBA season, the Phoenix Suns were touted as one of the teams to look out for this season. After all, they had a Big 3 of Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton on the roster. For what it’s worth, the Suns played like one of the best teams in the league for the first few weeks of the season.

However, due to several injuries, the Suns somewhat got derailed. Well, now the Suns are back to being favorites to not only win the Western Conference but also the 2023 NBA Championship.

The reason behind it is the blockbuster trade for Kevin Durant. Following Durant’s arrival, the Suns are now the team to beat in the Western Conference. But it seems like the Suns are not done making moves to improve their roster yet.

Chris Paul Reportedly Wants The Phoenix Suns To Sign NBA Veteran Carmelo Anthony

In order to trade for Kevin Durant, the Phoenix Suns gave up a lot of assets. Keeping that in mind, it’s only obvious that the team needs some valuable role players. According to Suns insider Landon Buford, Chris Paul wants Carmelo Anthony to be one of those guys.

Chris Paul has always been a supporter of Carmelo Anthony. On top of that, CP3 and Melo share a long friendship, which could play a crucial role in helping onboard Carmelo Anthony.

Although Anthony may not be the player he once was, he can still be a crucial piece in the Phoenix Suns’ quest to win the 2023 NBA Championship. Melo’s natural scoring ability will further help the Suns’ apparent strategy of outscoring their opponents in every game.

As of now, these are nothing but rumors. Will Carmelo Anthony finish his career with the Suns and potentially have an NBA Championship to his name? Only time will tell.
