D’Angelo Russell Says He’d Pick Bam Adebayo To Build A Team Around For The Next 10 Years: “When You Have Somebody That Big That’s Versatile On The Defensive End And What He Brings On The Offensive End… It’s Just The Way The League Is Going.”

Every now and then, with the raising and the arrival of players in the league, everybody tends to ask who would be the player you’d choose to start a franchise. The answer has changed over the years and now, if you ask, most people will say Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic or Zion Williamson.

However, when you ask D’Angelo Russell, the answer is different. The talented guard joined JJ Redick and Tommy Alteron a recent episode of The Old Man and the Three, where he praised Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo and explained why he’d choose him to build around for the next decade.

“Honestly, the way the league’s going, I’m gonna go with Bam, Bam Adebayo,” said Russell on a young guy he’d build around for the next 10 years. “When you have somebody that big that’s so versatile on the defensive end and what he brings on the offensive end, just the way the league’s going, you see him guarding Giannis [Antetokounmpo] throughout the season, and he just made that matchup tough for him, so I’m going with Bam for sure.”

Bam has been doing great things in the last couple of seasons. This year he was a finalist for the Most Improved Player of the Year award after earning his first call to the All-Star game and leading the Miami Heat to the postseason alongside Jimmy Butler.

Adebayo is just 23. He is one of the most dominant centers in the league now and the future for him and his team looks nothing but bright. In the first six games of the playoffs, Adebayo has scored 14.5 points, 11.8 boards and 5.0 dimes per outing.
