Klay Thompson has shown time and time again that he is one of the most lethal streak shooters in NBA history.

Even though his three-point shot is considered one of the best in history, it is Klay’s ability to get on a role that makes him one of the most dangerous offensive players in NBA history.

Klay once got on such a roll that he scored an incredible 37 points in one quarter, setting the record for the most points a player has scored in an NBA quarter. But fans will remember Klay’s incredible 60 points in a single game with more fondness.

Thompson scored 60 points in 29 minutes and did this in just three quarters. Klay relied almost entirely on his three-point shooting to get to this landmark.

To date, it is Klay’s highest-scoring game in the NBA. And the story behind his incredible scoring night makes his performance that much more incredible.

According to former NBA champion David West, Thompson had been reclusive prior to the game. He hadn’t participated in the practice the day before the game, or the shoot-around before the game.

When the Warriors did see Klay, he barely spoke before the game. He was silent and just stepped onto the court and put on one of the greatest offensive displays of his NBA career.

“The night he had 60, Klay had missed shootaround or the practice the day before… He probably said like 5 words the whole day before the game. Then just come out, left off, and didn’t do no dribbling.”

Thompson can transform a bad game into an all-time great one with just a few shots going his way. And that is a truly frightening prospect for any team that has to face him.

Next season, Klay will make his return to the sport after two full seasons out with injuries to his ACL and his Achilles. And if he can recreate his incredible form on the court, could help the Warriors emerge once again as contenders.
