Domantas Sabonis had a relatively simple explanation for why the Sacramento Kings have the best offense in clutch moments.

“We just give the ball to Fox,” Sabonis told TNT’s Stephanie Ready after the team’s 122-117 win over the New York Knicks. “I take it out of bounds, I’m not even past halfcourt and he’s already getting a layup or a dunk. So, props to him, he’s been amazing for us all year.”

Fox has been regarded as one of the best modern-day clutch players and the numbers are out there to be seen. Per Yahoo! Sports, the guard has drained 165 points on 63-of-114 shooting (via NBA Advanced Stats).

Against the Knicks, Fox went hot in the final stretch with his 15-point explosion to bury New York. This season, he’s averaging 25.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists and has been a vital cog in the Kings’ electric outfit.

The Sacramento Kings Have Been The Team To Beat In The West

Such has been the dominance of the Kings in the West that they have gone from sureshot playoff contenders to bonafide title favorites.

Their win against the Knicks puts them as the second seed in the Western Conference despite the Grizzlies beating the Golden State Warriors as the Kings hold the tiebreaker over Memphis.

And Fox has been steering the ship coupled with the Kings gunning for a title and the form they are in (they are 39-26 at the time of writing), they will need more of him in the four quarters to go the distance.

Sacramento will take on the Phoenix Suns next, followed by a skirmish against the Milwaukee Bucks.
