  • Shaun Livingston thinks Draymond Green and Chris Paul have to find a way to coexist
  • The former Warriors guard noted that both players have “dominant personalities”
  • Chris Paul and Draymond Green have previous beef

The Golden State Warriors made a big move this summer, trading Jordan Poole for Chris Paul in a blockbuster trade. This move brings more veteran leadership to the Warriors locker room, and many players on the roster have already expressed excitement about the move.

Still, there have been some concerns about Chris Paul’s potential fit with the Warriors, particularly with Draymond Green. In fact, former Warriors point guard Shaun Livingston claimed that the key to the Warriors’ championship success is Paul and Green “being able to coexist”.

“The key is Draymond and CP being able to coexist,” Livingston said when speaking to Monte Poole of NBC Sports. “Both are dominant personalities. Both are leaders in their way. Both are very prideful players with big egos. They’ve exceeded their potential and expectations. Can they coexist in one locker room?”

There is no doubt that both Chris Paul and Draymond Green are vocal leaders that speak their minds no matter the situation. It will definitely be interesting to see how things unfold next season, especially given the history between the two. However, Draymond Green has already suggested he wants to end the beef with Chris Paul, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.

This past season, Chris Paul averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game for the Phoenix Suns. Even though he is 38 years old right now, it is clear that Paul can still be an effective player on a championship contender.

Steve Kerr Explained Why The Warriors Needed Chris Paul

There’s no doubt that the Warriors fell short of their championship expectations this summer, and moves definitely needed to be made. In fact, Steve Kerr previously explained that the team needed Chris Paul to “have another way to attack”, and noted that Paul is a top-tier playmaker.

There is no doubt that having diversity in a team offense is good. Chris Paul is an elite pick-and-roll player, and he got 1.00 PPP as the ballhandler in a pick-and-roll. The Warriors’ system has clearly gotten them four championships, but injecting a different way to score won’t hurt.

We will see whether Chris Paul has the desired impact on the Golden State Warriors. However, it is clear that the team is excited about his addition, and he could certainly be the key to them winning a championship.
