Forward Draymond Green has always been a key member of the Golden State Warriors, anchoring multiple championship-level defenses. There is no doubt that the team’s system heavily relies on him, which is why the team has signed him to a new deal.

A recent report by Shams Charania revealed that Draymond Green has agreed on a four-year, $100 million deal with the Warriors. The deal notably includes a player option for the last season.

“Free agent Draymond Green and CEO of Klutch Sports Rich Paul have agreed on a four-year, $100 million contract to return to the Golden State Warriors, sources tell The Athletic
and Stadium. The $100M deal contains a player option in Year 4.”

It is clear that this is a good deal for the Golden State Warriors. Though Draymond Green isn’t a prolific scorer, it is clear that his defense, rebounding, and playmaking are very valuable to the Warriors, and his play style is extremely synergistic with stars Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

During the 2022-23 regular season, Draymond Green averaged 8.5 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 6.8 APG for the Golden State Warriors while shooting 52.5% from the field. Though the Warriors fell short of the championship, Green had a solid individual season, and it’ll be interesting to see how he does next year.
