Former Teammate Explains How Kevin Durant Is Handling COVID-19

2 Min Read

Last week, Kevin Durant confirmed he was one of several NBA players with COVID-19.

The past week, he has had to live in quarantine with the deadly, global pandemic in his system. And while we have yet to hear anything from Durant since revealing his diagnosis, one of his former teammates revealed his current state of mind.

“He’s good. He’s good. His spirits are good,” Cook said on NBC Sports’ Washington’s Wizards Talk podcast. “As the days go by and we start to learn more about it and you see more people who have it … we’re thankful and lucky enough that our organizations and teams have access to tests so guys get tested.”

“But K’s good. K is in great spirits, still being K, man. Low, mellow, chill, moving at his own pace. He’s just encouraging social distancing and staying inside and don’t expose others.”

“For him to step up to the plate and use his platform to spread awareness is brave. That’s the kind of guy he is. He’s fine. He’s doing great.”

When he was first diagnosed, he made sure to stress the importance of quarantine.

We don’t know if Durant is showing any symptoms, but he seems to be doing well enough so far. He’s taking it easy, and one day at a time.

Here’s to hoping for a quick and fast recovery for Durant everyone else infected with Coronavirus.
