Scott Burrell dodged a bullet when he told his parents about Michael Jordan hilariously teasing him as an alcoholic on The Last Dance.

As much as the ESPN and Netflix show focused on the 1998 Bulls, it also showed the camaraderie between the players, and one of them was a light moment between the Bulls’ small forward and Jordan, where the latter called him an alcoholic and an absolute party man.

“I warned my parents about that part,” Burrell said, per New York Post. “I knew that part was coming and someone told me that it was coming in tonight’s episode. So I was like, ‘When it’s coming?’ So I’m sitting on the couch watching with my wife and I was like, ‘What is she going think? What are her parents going to think?’ But you know what, it was 20-something years ago, so it’s a different way of life.”

In one of the scenes, MJ was caught teasing Burrell, calling him “Dennis Rodman Jr.” and further added that he “never gets sleep.” The fun ribbing didn’t there.

“Single man and he thinks he can hang out all night.”

In the scene, Burrell could be seen as shy and squirmy, saying his folks would eventually see the footage, but Jordan was relentless. “Mom, dad, he’s an alcoholic,” Jordan said.

Good move, Burrell. Good move.

Scott Burrell’s Wife Had A Hilarious Reaction To The Whole ‘Alcoholic’ Tease

Sharing her two cents on the whole incident was Scott Burrell’s wife, Jeane Coakley, who had no issues with the scene on the show.

“I was more upset that Michael didn’t give him a dang hug,” Coakley said on SNY. and that showed he things were okay in the Burrell household after the scene went viral.

Burrell’s NBA journey wasn’t always as successful as during his early days, as he was out of the league after eight seasons in the NBA. During his time, he averaged 6.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. But he was part of a crack Bulls unit and MJ’s vote as a teammate.
