• James Harden wants to play in China one day

• Harden is currently in a heated trade saga with the Philadelphia 76ers and GM Daryl Morey

• Analysts have questioned whether Harden’s long-term future in the NBA is secure

After turning down max contract extensions with the Rockets and the Nets, James Harden finds himself on a Philadelphia 76ers squad that has no interest in giving him what he wants

After trashing GM Daryl Morey publicly in China, Harden has said that he would one day want to play in the country given the fanfare he receives.

“Every time I come here, the love is just like … it’s crazy, you know what I mean? So I feel like they deserve to actually see me come play here.”

China may be crazier about basketball than even American fans are, given it’s the most popular sport in the Asian nation. Harden would be the biggest superstar to play in their country.

With a trend of soccer players chasing big money contracts in Saudi Arabia, maybe Harden starts a new trend where top-tier stars leave the NBA for a final payday in China.

James Harden Has An Unclear Future

The fact that we’re talking about Harden possibly playing in China is quite ludicrous given everything the former MVP has achieved. He should be contending for championships till late in his career, but the decisions he took over his career have backfired and left him in this spot.

He averaged 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game last season.

Even though Andre Iguodala and Kyrie Irving have come out in Harden’s support, it looks like he may not have a choice if Daryl Morey chooses to not move him. Analysts are expressing concerns over him even getting a contract next season. Playing out this year with Philly the best he can and evaluating options as a free agent next summer will be his best course of action.

You never know, maybe Chinese teams are motivated in getting a player like Harden to the country and decide to make him one of the highest-paid players in league history.
