• James Harden is looking to make the process of the 76ers keeping him on their roster ‘uncomfortable’

• Harden requested a trade in July and is not being moved due to low-value offers

• He missed media day and is reporting a day late to training camp

James Harden does not want to wear a Philadelphia 76ers jersey in a month’s time when the NBA season resumes. A trade looks challenging for the former MVP, with the 76ers not accepting low-value offers.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Harden is planning on making the locker room and front office so uncomfortable that the team will have no choice but to trade him away.

“James Harden wants a trade. He wants to make the 76ers uncomfortable. So uncomfortable, ultimately, they don’t think they’ll get the best out of him and make a trade.”

If Harden wants out of a situation, he often gets his wish. The 76ers know this because Harden forcing his way out of Brooklyn in the 21/22 season is what enabled them to trade for him and get him on the team. They’re not willing to let him go as easily as the Nets did, so this trade saga will play out over the next few weeks.

Daryl Morey Won’t Back Down

Daryl Morey has made it clear that he would rather retain an unhappy Harden than trade him away for pennies on the dollar. During media day, Morey spoke openly on the trade drama, reiterating that he follows through on what he said and will not respond to Harden calling him a liar.

“I don’t think I have to interpret it. I mean, I think he said what he meant. I think that was well reported on. And, obviously, attacks. I haven’t responded to that because I think it falls flat on its face. 20 years of work in the league. I always follow through on everything.”

Morey is one of the most stubborn GMs in the NBA today. He will do exactly what he thinks is best for his franchise, especially in a bid to keep Joel Embiid happy. But if the best thing for the franchise becomes to trade Harden away and at least get role-players back, it seems Morey would do that instead of holding on to Harden till next summer out of spite.

Joel Embiid Reacts To James Harden Trade Request

Reigning league MVP Joel Embiid is going through his second training camp in three seasons where his point guard has refused to play for the franchise. This is naturally upsetting to Embiid, who opened up on how he feels during his interview on media day.

“It’s been unfortunate what’s been going on but the goal is to be together and try to win a championship… As far as for myself that’s all I’m focused on. I just want to win. Whatever it takes and whatever puts us in a position… that’s all I care about.”

Embiid has made multiple championship proclamations this summer. He claimed that the Celtics and Bucks haven’t surpassed the 76ers after their blockbuster summer additions. Also, Embiid believes he alone can help the 76ers win a title but wants the franchise to put him in a position to keep contending for the next eight years.

If they let Harden go for nothing, Embiid may not want his long-term future to be in Philadelphia.
