JaVale McGee On Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Brother Kostas: “Y’all Talk About The Greek Freak, He’s The First One Winning!”

1 Min Read

One of the most fascinating realizations of the 2020 Championship is the fact that Kostas Antetokounmpo, Giannis’ younger (and much less talented) brother actually was the first of the two to win a title.

On Twitter, JaVale McGee was happy to declare it to the world.

“Y’all talk about the Greek Freak, he’s the first one winning!”

The jokes started making their rounds on the internet as people found out…

Interestingly enough, with tonight’s win, Kostas also became the first Greek Champion in NBA history.

The 22-year-old didn’t get much playing time with the Lakers this season, but it’s fair to say it was a great opportunity for growth. The young swingman got to learn under LeBron James and be part of a Championship-winning organization.

As for Giannis, it’s got to be a bitter-sweet moment for him. While he is undoubtedly happy for his brother, there’s got to be feelings of disappointment as he had hopes of winning the title himself this season before that got derailed early on by the Heat.

The hope is that Giannis will catch up to his brother within the next few years.
