If there is one player in the NBA whose calling card has become his intensity, it is Jimmy Butler. During his stint with the Miami Heat, Butler has led the franchise to the NBA Finals twice, leading by example with his tough play and elite attitude.

One would think that during the Finals, Jimmy Butler being locked in would mean he’s constantly obsessing over how to defeat the Denver Nuggets. But that is not the case, and Butler has been decompressing after Game 1, which he explained recently.

“Well, my daughter’s out here so, ripping and running with her. Played a lot of Spades… I’m gonna do an escape room tonight. I think my guys went and saw Spiderman today, just doing normal stuff. Cuz at the end of the day, I’m as normal as they come. It’s not always about basketball, it will never always be about basketball. That’s how I regroup. I stay consistent in there because that’s what I know I can fall back on.”

Butler recently shared a few stories of what looked like a quick getaway in Colorado with his friends after the Game 1 loss, and he seemed to be just relaxing. Being able to stay composed and not get overwhelmed is a key component to winning at the highest level. The fact that Butler is so relaxed looks like a good sign for Heat fans, although he hasn’t lost sight of the objective in the slightest.

Jimmy Butler Is Convinced The Miami Heat Are Going To Win

On paper, the Denver Nuggets are vastly superior to the 8th-seed Miami Heat. But Miami has defied expectations all postseason. Jimmy Butler had just 13 points in Game 1 and he will not be that passive again. And as far as he is concerned, he knows that his team will get to four wins in these Finals.

“Down 0-1. We know we are going to get to four. We are in there laughing, in there smiling knowing that we could play better,” Butler said.

Jimmy Butler is averaging 27.6 points per game during these playoffs, and it feels like a big Game 2 performance is on the way. He will need to go to a special place for the Heat to have a chance to win this series, and after recentering himself with some time off, Butler will be raring to go and do just that.
