JJ Redick Says Nikola Jokic Deserves The MVP: “I Have A Hard Time Saying That Anyone Should Win The MVP But Him.”

2 Min Read

Nikola Jokic is many people’s MVP for the season, and there is no doubt that he is a deserving candidate. While there have been others who are deserving of the award, Jokic has consistently elevated his team throughout the whole season, even with his co-star Jamal Murray going down with a devastating injury. Nikola Jokic has been available and he’s been playing at a high level.

One of the people who believe that Nikola Jokic deserves the award is JJ Redick of the Dallas Mavericks. In a recent episode of The Old Man And The Three, JJ Redick explained why Nikola Jokic is extremely dominant and voiced his support for the Serbian superstar being the MVP.

He (Jokic) doesn’t really have any weaknesses in his game. I mean, that’s basically what it comes down to. He’s so big and such a great passer, and such a willing passer… Of course, he can score in iso, he can score in closeouts, he can score in pick and pop, he can handle the ball… I have a hard time saying that anyone should win the MVP but him.

JJ Redick points to Nikola Jokic’s complete skillset and all the things that he can do on the court. Nikola Jokic does things that other centers simply can’t, and his passing vision is on par with some of the best passers in the game. Statistically, he’s been dominant as well: 26.4 PPG, 10.9 RPG, and 8.6 APG. Nikola Jokic has been the best player in the league during the regular season, and he definitely deserves MVP honors.
