As a 2x MVP, 6x All-Star and reigning Finals MVP, there is no question that Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the game.

According to Kendrick Perkins however, he’s not nearly as marketable as some of the game’s other premier players. In a post on Twitter, he made the comparison to Tim Duncan.

I look at Giannis like Tim Duncan!!! He’s Great but not Marketable like those other guys.

Giannis is insanely good. A few years ago, he emerged as one of the most dominant players in the modern era and his game has almost single-handedly transformed the Bucks into title contenders.

Already, he has been named as a Top 75 player. Going forward, there’s no telling what else he;ll be able to do.

“I want to play 20 years,” Antetokounmpo said. “Hopefully, I can play all 20 of those years with the Bucks.

“But we’ll see, I can’t predict the future, but that (pointing to the list), that’s a compliment. Being (No.) 24 and I just turned 27. That’s all my hard work that has paid off. But I gotta — we just lost — I gotta keep going. I gotta keep improving as a player. I gotta keep enjoying the game. Gotta stay in the moment, live in the moment and where it’s going to end up when I’m done with it and I’m done with the league and out of the league, who knows.”

For now, the Bucks are just hoping to defend their crown. In what has been another MVP campaign for Antetokounmpo (29.3 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 6 assists per game), the Bucks have been holding their own in the East. They stand at 4th in the Conference with a 38-25 record.

The path ahead will not be easy, but Giannis is ready to go — regardless of what the critics, doubters, and naysayers are saying about his marketability.
