Following a hard loss in Game 3, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers took the court on Tuesday night to get a huge W over the Miami Heat, leading the series 3-1 against the Floridians. LeBron knew he couldn’t let Jimmy Butler and the Heat play like they did on Sunday and got to work to take the Lakers to the promised land. He finished the game with 28 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists in the 102-96 victory.
Following the game, James revealed he felt it was one of the best performances he’s had in his career, given the importance of the match, how they played the prior clash and obviously, the stage where they are. LeBron said he felt the pressure ahead of the game and ultimately things worked out for the purple and gold.
“When I woke up from my nap this morning after our team meeting, I just felt that. I felt that vibe. I felt that pressure. I felt like for me personally, this was one of the biggest games of my career. I just wanted to relay that message to my teammates,” said LeBron James.
They needed to stop Jimmy Butler, who recorded a 40-point triple-double in Game 3, which LeBron and Anthony Davis did, limiting Jimmy to ‘just’ 22 points. Now the Lakers are one win away from winning the championship and LeBron hopes to finish the job on Thursday, against a desperate Heat team that brings the best of its game when their backs are up against the wall.
