The coronavirus epidemic is having an impact of global proportions.
As the infection spreads, the steps to contain the virus are being magnified — and the NBA is no exception. Facing the potential of an outbreak at any one of their games (which hosts thousands of people), the league is apparently considering playing games with “essential” personnel only — meaning no fans or media in attendance.
People have been split on the decision, and LeBron James recently took a stance that surprised no one.
“Obviously I would be disappointed not having the fans cause that’s what I play for — I play for my family, I play for my fans. Noone could actually come to the game if they decide to go to that point so I’ll be disappointed in that. But at the same time, you gotta listen that’s keeping a track on what’s going on.”

The coronavirus is affecting life for everyone in the United States. For those who aren’t infected or exposed, the fear and anxiety associated with its presence can have a real toll on the community.
LeBron understands the risk here and is willing to deal with whatever is necessary to protect himself, his family, and anyone else who may be at risk if the NBA continues with business as normal. As the leader and face of the NBA, it’s important that he makes this known publicly. Regardless, if things continue to progress, the NBA may not have a choice.
Expect extreme measure to be taken if the world’s newest microscopic assassin doesn’t slow down.
