After a serious health scare concerning his son Bronny (who is on the mend now), LeBron James is back to business as usual as the NBA offseason rolls on. With just a few days left in the month of July, this is the time of year when James starts to ramp up his workouts in preparation for training camp.

It’s also the time for the newest release of his signature Nikes. To date, LeBron has one of Nike’s most popular shoe lines, and he recently gave fans a peek at this year’s release. In some photos that has since gone viral, James is with his son, Bryce, getting some work in while posing for pictures wearing the kicks, which features a cream and gold colorway on a traditional Nike format.

The design is pretty simplistic overall, as no part of the sneaker is meant to really stand out in a huge way. Even still, it’s a slick look and a fine installment for one of the game’s most lucrative sneaker lines.

LeBron Almost Accepted Deal To Join Reebok In 2003

LeBrons success story with Nike almost didn’t happen. Coming out of High School, James was a highly touted prospect, and Reebok tried to sign him to an exclusive deal worth a whole lot of money.

Naturally, LeBron rejected the offer and proceeded to ink a $90 million with Nike.

“When LeBron’s agent Aaron Goodwin told Nike what was going through James’ head, they excitedly realized they were back in the game and sprung into action,” recalled Brian Windhorst on LeBron’s early negotiations with Nike brand. “It wasn’t long before a renewed $90 million offer came through and LeBron signed it straight away with Reebok’s contingent still waiting to greet him in their Akron hotel room.”

We’ll never know what would have happened had LeBron chosen to sign with a different company in his early career, but it’s fair to say he made the right choice all things considered.

When it comes to sports apparel and athletic sports brands, Nike is really at the top of the list, and they prove it time and time again with the quality of their kicks.
