Lil Wayne Takes Back Negative Comments About Luka Doncic: “Luka Is Cold As A B*tch”

Rapper Lil Wayne has walked back on calling Luka Doncic a 'ho' during the 2022 NBA Playoffs, praising him recently.

The 2023 NBA Playoffs didn’t have the Dallas Mavericks in the field, as the team fell from the fourth seed in February to the eleventh in April to miss out on the postseason entirely.

That was a disastrous outcome for Luka Doncic, in particular, who has an incredibly impressive young playoff career. His demolishing of the Phoenix Suns in 2022 caused Suns fan Lil Wayne to call him ‘a ho’, a statement he recently recanted on All The Smoke.

“No man. Luka is colder than a motherf***ker. When I tweeted that it was about his crying, he stopped that. He worked on that.”

Doncic has been an exceptional performer in the playoffs in his three trips in five seasons there. Two ended with first-round exits at the hand of the healthy Clippers, while one ended in the Western Conference Finals after the Mavericks, catapulted by Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson, made a Cinderella playoff run and destroyed the 64-win Suns in a Game 7 on their home floor.

Doncic has averaged 32.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 7.9 assists in 28 games in the playoffs in his career.

Luka Doncic Took A Different Kind Of Step Back

A step-back three is one of the most consistent weapons in Luka’s offensive arsenal, but this season his step-back came in terms of his career. Legends rarely miss the playoffs in their prime, and Luka was headed for legend status before the Mavs’ disastrous season this year.

He averaged 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.0 assists in 66 games this season and did everything in his power to keep the Mavs afloat. But letting Jalen Brunson walk in the summer, not adding any wing or big defender, and then trading for Kyrie Irving on a roster without depth ensured the team gave themselves very little chance to succeed.

They could bounce back with a massive season next year if they keep Kyrie in free agency and can use the No. 10 draft pick well, either by drafting a two-way frontcourt player like Taylor Hendricks, Jarace Walker, or Bilal Coulibaly or trading it away for a complementary star.
