Lonzo Ball Reveals Why He Joined The Chicago Bulls: “I Wanted To Go Somewhere I’m Appreciated And Can Play My Game.”

New York Post

Lonzo Ball has recently joined the Chicago Bulls after a sign-and-trade with the New Orleans Pelicans. Adding Ball gives the Bulls a natural point guard who can be a ballhandler next to Zach LaVine. During his time with the New Orleans Pelicans, Lonzo Ball also developed his 3PT shooting to respectable levels, and that along with his defensive versatility and savvy passing makes him a fairly solid point guard. While he didn’t have a huge usage rate with the New Orleans Pelicans, it is quite possible that his role will be increased on the Chicago Bulls.

There is no question that sometimes players have to go to new situations to make the best move for their careers. It seems as though that is the case for Lonzo Ball. Lonzo Ball has recently revealed that he considers the Chicago Bulls “the perfect place” for him to play his game and that he wanted to be on a franchise where he was appreciated. It makes sense that a player would enjoy playing for a franchise where they were empowered to play their style.

Lonzo Ball: “(The Bulls) were the team that stood out that really wanted me for me. I wanted to go somewhere I’m appreciated and can play my game. Chicago is the perfect place for that.”

With the Chicago Bulls being a better situation for Ball than the New Orleans Pelicans, it is possible that he will end up taking a jump to the next level. An improvement from Lonzo Ball will definitely help the team be more competitive in the Eastern Conference. The Chicago Bulls may not be contenders, but they have taken the steps to make a solid playoff squad.

There will be a lot of dangerous teams in the Eastern Conference. The Brooklyn Nets are rightfully considered the favorites, but there are a lot of solid teams in the Conference such as the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, and Miami Heat. However, the Chicago Bulls have assembled a team with a lot of solid players of their own, and perhaps we see them make the playoffs this season.
