Luka Doncic Is Not Happy With The Mavericks Performances This Season: ‘Right Now It’s Looking Like We Don’t Care, Honestly, If We Win Games Or Not.’

Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are having different starts to the 2020/21 NBA season. The Slovenian player started struggling this campaign but he’s found his touch progressively. Now he’s playing at a great level but his team isn’t on the same page as him right now.

After the Mavs lost to the inspired Utah Jazz, 120-101, Doncic was very critical of his team, stating they are playing like they don’t care if they win or not. The Slovenian was visibly upset and used strong words to describe the current moment of his team.

“There’s really not much to say. I never felt like this. We’ve got to do something because this is not looking good. We’ve got to step up and just talk to each other and play way better than this. It’s mostly effort.”

“Right now it’s looking like we don’t care, honestly, if we win games or not. But there’s got to be more energy and effort, you know, divert the ball and box out; everything. There’s a lot of things that we can improve. I know we will, and that’s all that matters,” said Doncic.

Doncic has done everything in his power to help his team and so far he’s been unable to make them a competitive team. He was expected to win the MVP award this season after the good campaign he had last season but the Mavericks aren’t helping his case and LeBron James has surpassed him.

Luka is still young and has a lot of room to improve, but after a moved offseason, one would have imagined the Mavericks would have been better at this point.
