Michael Jordan is widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time. His Airness left a big mark on the game and nothing will change that. Jordan was always trying to get better, to reach the next level and take his team with him.

Jordan proved he’s great on and off the court and whenever he talked, everybody paid attention. MJ not only delivered great games but he also provided fans with some quotes that will be hard to forget. ESPN recently collected some of the greatest quotes MJ said during his active years, with some being very funny while others are inspiring ones.

“I never lost a game. I just ran out of time,” it’s Jordan’s presentation on this list.

He also explained he valuated players by looking into their eyes and see how scared they were of facing him. MJ was really something else and his confidence was always high. He once clowned the Cleveland Cavaliers for putting Craig Ehlo on him, which led to Jordan making “the shot” against the Cavs.

Moreover, he had some inspiring quotes for the younger generations.

“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

He also urged people to keep pushing and never quit since that became a habit, a very bad one. Jordan once said there was no “I” in “team” but there was “I” in “win” and that was enough for him.

This man was something different; his personality is unmatched, he always gave his best and that’s why he was so successful in basketball. You could see him chilling off the court, going to nightclubs with Tiger Woods and Charles Barkley or torching teams on the floor, posting big numbers every night. Air Jordan is a legend for many reasons, although some people actually didn’t see him that way.

He’s part of the GOAT debate after going unbeaten in the Finals, winning two three-peats while becoming one of the greatest scorers of all time. He was an inspiration for everybody and Jordan made sure to inspire people with his game and his words. Plenty of years after he retired from the game, we’re still reading what he had to say at some point and it’s very relatable.
