Team USA has officially been completed ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup, as certain stars take time out of the offseason to represent their country at the World Cup.

The full team features stars like Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, Mikal Bridges, and Paolo Banchero, among others. Fans reacted to the roster negatively, preparing to lose at FIBA as they did in 2019.

Fans weren’t convinced of the team’s strength to hold off Nikola Jokic’s Serbia.

Another fan was worried about EuroBasket champions Spain being able to beat this roster.

Some fans were still positive, joking about how the team can only beat Liechtenstein by 70 points.

Another fan thinks this team can’t hold up to France, one of the strongest national team sides in the world.

Fans also gave Luka Doncic’s Slovenia a chance to beat this Team USA roster.

Some positive fans still believe their team can win Gold.

One fan declared this the worst Team USA roster he has ever seen.

The team has some of the NBA’s brightest young talents but no established stars or veterans. Jalen Brunson will realistically be this team’s veteran, which could be a concern given how stacked Team USA usually is.

They have to improve on a disastrous seventh-place finish in 2019 from a team led by Jayson Tatum, Donovan Mitchell, and then All-Star Kemba Walker.

Is Team USA In Danger?

The major issue with the roster is that there are very few players that have actually played professional games under FIBA rules before. None of the players on this team were a part of Team USA for the Tokyo Olympics, meaning they’ll have to adjust on the fly.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to be in action for Greece, Nikola Jokic for Serbia, and Luka Doncic for Slovenia. There are some NBA superstars that have excelled under FIBA rules before competing, so Team USA will have to be careful. Victor Wembanyama will unfortunately not be present to make France prohibitive favorites, but their national team setup with veterans Rudy Gobert, Nicolas Batum, and Evan Fournier is always deadly in competitions.
