NBA MVP Joel Embiid is living his best life this summer. As the 76ers work to quell unrest behind the scenes, Embiid is doing his part to stay out of the way and enjoy the summer break before the grind starts up again in the fall.
Amazingly, this summer also happened to be the one when Embiid officially tied the knot, and he couldn’t look any happier in the newly released wedding photos. On social media this weekend, the star big man earned worldwide attention in celebration of his new marriage.

The bride is named Anne de Paula and she’s a model who has been with Joel since 2018. The couple has mostly stayed out of the public spotlight, but they made sure to go all-out for their big day in California. This obviously marks a huge life milestone for Embiid, who probably has plans to continue expanding his family. Unfortunately, regarding his upcoming season in Philly, Joel may not like where things currently stand.
What’s Next For Embiid And The Sixers?
Daryl Morey finds himself in a real crisis with James Harden. If he can’t find a suitable package for him, it will only further hold Embiid back from his goal of winning a title and it will feed the narratives about a potential departure from the team. Already, there are signs that he’s thinking about other places…
“He’s finally kinda cracking the door open to the possibility of leaving,” said Chris Haynes, “which would only add more urgency to the front office to make sure they are on their toes, making sure they are doing everything that they can to keep a winning roster around him.”
For now, until the situation develops, all we can do is wait and see how it all plays out. In the meantime, Embiid is out there making major life moves and it’s a really great thing to witness.
