The Brooklyn Nets made a beeline for the Miami Heat’s big three of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro in a potential Kyrie Irving trade, and that had fans trolling the franchise for even expecting Miami to ship their stars.

Irving took the NBA world by storm when he requested a trade from the Nets earlier this Friday, sparking buzz and speculations about his next landing spot. While the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, and Phoenix Suns were looked at as some of the options, the LA Clippers were the latest to throw their hat in the ring.

Miami was one of the teams heavily linked to the Nets, and Irving and reports of the latter in talks with the Heat for their big 3 did the rounds.

It does make sense that the Nets would ask the world for Irving. With Kevin Durant set to return, adding the trio would make them more than just competitive. They would easily elevate themselves to title contenders,

Not only did fans believe a trade of that magnitude was impossible, but they also made fun of the franchise for even considering the thought of the Heat trading away their key stars.

Irving to the Heat isn’t a bad ploy, especially considering the fact that he’s the kind of PG they’re looking for. At the time of writing, the 30-year-old is averaging 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists this season. However, fans weren’t keen on the idea.

Earlier, there were reports of the Heat’s head honchos concerned about how they would go about managing Irving, given his track record with off-court controversies. According to NBA writer Ethan J. Skolnick:

“I continue to hear there’s a lot of discomfort at high levels of the Heat organization about the prospect of dealing with Kyrie Irving every day.” – @EthanJSkolnick

Irving’s controversies are something every franchise that’s gunning for him will be wary of, but there’s no denying that sometimes he’s worth the ask.

However, the Nets’ and the Heat pulling off a trade of his magnitude will surely go down as one of the blockbuster trades in the NBA.
