The Los Angeles Lakers have lost their season opener against the Golden State Warriors, who are still lacking sharpshooter Klay Thompson. Despite the best efforts of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the rest of the Lakers simply didn’t have enough for the team to beat out the Warriors. It’s clear that this wasn’t the desired outcome for the Lakers, who are widely viewed as one of the favorites for the 2021-22 NBA championships.

Of course, one game doesn’t represent how the whole season will go for the Los Angeles Lakers, and it’s clear that they have enough firepower to be a top seed. However, that didn’t stop fans from poking fun at the Los Angeles Lakers, and claiming that they’re “old”.

Lakers fans therapy session.
Let it all out.
This is a safe place.

It’s clear that a lot of fans were ready to talk some trash to Lakers fans, especially fans of the Golden State Warriors. The past 10 NBA Finals featured LeBron James or Stephen Curry, with the two superstars facing off multiple times against one another. Their fans are familiar with throwing barbs at each other as well.

Both the Warriors and the Lakers will look to be contenders this season. The Golden State Warriors will be getting Klay Thompson back, while the Los Angeles Lakers made a move for Russell Westbrook during the offseason. Both teams have a trio of stars, along with championship experience. Any matchup between the two teams will be exciting, especially if they end up facing off in the playoffs.

It remains to be seen how the Los Angeles Lakers will do over the rest of the season, and it’s entirely possible that they will end up bouncing back from this loss. The Warriors will certainly take this first win as a positive sign of things to come. Hopefully, we see both teams have a productive season.
