With Andre Drummond having reached a buyout agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he is set to become an unrestricted free agent at a pivotal time in his career.

According to multiple reports, the L.A. Lakers are frontrunners for the 27-year-old big man. And, as fans recently pointed out on Twitter, Drummond’s long-time dream has been to join forces with the King on the same team.

one of my goals In life Is to meet an play with or against @KingJames

Technically, throughout his 8 years in the league, Dre has already met LeBron, and has faced off against him multiple different times. His dream has already been realized.

Still, there is little doubt that Drummond from 2011 would have loved to suit up alongside James. Who is to say that isn’t the case today?

Even at 36, the Lakers superstar has remained one of the best players in the league, averaging 25.4 points on 51.3% shooting as one of the leading MVP candidates.

Despite the injuries, the Lakers are still in a good position to win the title — and, with a little more help, they can significantly increase their odds of repeating. For Andre, playing in a market like L.A., with basketball’s greatest players, would certainly help boost his own performance.

But we’ll see how it all plays out in the end…
