The 2023 Free Agency class is already looking up to be an extremely heavy one, with some of the top players in the league being theoretically available. This year’s free agency sees Zach LaVine be the best available player, followed up with a lot of average but very good players that could be a complementary piece on a title team, but will be overpaid by a team with cap space.

One of the top free agents in 2023 will be the former scoring champion, Bradley Beal. Beal has been with the Washington Wizards his entire career. Naturally, that means he has been in a position to underachieve his entire career.

Beal has revealed to The Athletic that he has already taken a decision for his free agency next season and knows what he will be doing but will wait to reveal it to everyone.

There are just two possibilities on what Beal’s decision will be. Either he goes or he stays, and the Wizards may be well-equipped to deal with either situation. They got a chance to replenish their young assets over the last few seasons and now have a genuine rotation of players around Beal that are improving every season.

If Brad decides to leave, the Wizards are suited to pivot into a rebuild, even though cap space will be a challenge with the gigantic Kristaps Porzingis contract on the books that they took from the Dallas Mavericks. While the Wizards’ current team makeup won’t get them a playoff spot without Beal, it is in the position to improve with more good picks or a returning asset if they manage to trade Beal.

With many teams already hovering with trade offers for Beal, the Wizards may push him out this season if the asking price is right. That would create a massive shift of power towards the Wizards with their assets, putting them in place to acquire another star down the line.
