Kyrie Irving has a knack for attracting drama towards him. It has become normal for fans to see Irving as someone who cannot be trusted well when it comes to being loyal to an NBA franchise. Over the course of his career, Kyrie has proven that time after time.

Less than 24 hours ago, Kyrie Irving was still part of the Brooklyn Nets, although he did request a trade from the organization. Now, Kyrie got his wish fulfilled after getting traded to the Dallas Mavericks. The blockbuster trade shocked the league while simultaneously ruining the hopes of at least three other NBA teams.

Although Irving will now form a dynamic duo with Luka Doncic while donning the jersey of the Dallas Mavericks, there were three other NBA franchises who offered a trade package for him.

The Brooklyn Nets Had Plenty Of Offers For Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving may be the nucleus of a lot of trouble, but he is still a great basketball player. Irving has the talent to single-handedly change the outcome of any given game.

Keeping that in mind, the Nets had offers from the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, and Dallas Mavericks for Kyrie Irving.

Brooklyn had FOUR offers on the table before choosing Dallas’ package for Kyrie:

▪️LAKERS – R. Westbrook, 2 1RP
▪️SUNS – C. Paul, J. Crowder, Unspecified Picks
▪️MAVS – Dinwiddie, Finney-Smith, 1RP, 2 2RP
▪️CLIPPERS – L. Kennard, T. Mann, 1RP, 2 1RP swaps@ChrisBHaynes pic.twitter.com/BJmXiv0wXv

At the end of the day, the Mavericks’ offer was simply way better than the others. The Brooklyn Nets ended up picking it up, as there is a very real chance that the franchise may have to deal with Kevin Durant leaving soon as well.

Thus, the organization will be heading towards a rebuilding phase, and they will need as many good draft picks as possible to do so without any fuss.
