The Chicago Bulls have officially been eliminated by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. Despite that, this season should be viewed as a success for them, as they have finally made it back to the playoffs after a brief hiatus. This season is a good foundation for the team to build on to potentially compete for an NBA championship in the future.

After the end of their season, DeMar DeRozan was asked about how he felt about his first season with the Chicago Bulls. He claimed that it was “perfect” and added that it was “something more than I could’ve imagined”.

Perfect. Couldn’t have went a better way. It’s been a great year to say the least. Just being around the front office, teammates, city. Everything has been something more than I could’ve imagined.

The Chicago Bulls have dealt with injuries all season, and perhaps that is the reason they were unable to get far in the playoffs. If Zach LaVine re-signs with the team in free agency, then they could definitely be a contender next season if the front office makes some moves. DeMar DeRozan has already advocated for Zach LaVine to receive a max contract offer.

Hopefully, we see the Chicago Bulls do better next season. They are a good team, and they had a really good start to the season this year. Perhaps with improvements from young players such as Lonzo Ball, Patrick Williams, and Ayo Dosunmu, they can get even better. Patrick Williams in particular was the No. 4 pick in the 2020 Draft, and if he develops his offensive skill set, he could definitely help the team get better, and take some of the scoring pressure off of their stars.

DeMar DeRozan was inconsistent in the playoffs this year, but he was instrumental in getting the Chicago Bulls the 1 win that they did get against the Bucks. Hopefully, he is able to lead the Chicago Bulls to a top finish next year, and there’s no doubt that his presence will be crucial to their hopes of competing.
