The GOAT debate is one of the most sensitive topics in the NBA. Every individual in the league has a different opinion about who the greatest player of all time is based on different parameters.
For most fans, Michael Jordan is the GOAT, and to be honest, they aren’t wrong with that. MJ had a phenomenal career in the league and won several accolades. From NBA titles to MVP awards, MJ achieved it all.
Additionally, he had a huge impact on increasing the popularity of the league around the globe. Despite that, there have been times when players and fans have named other players as the GOAT.
One such incident was in 2019 when Joel Embiid claimed Wilt Chamberlain was the GOAT instead of Michael Jordan for the sole reason that Wilt scored 100 points in a game.
Dennis Rodman Destroyed Joel Embiid
During the 1990s, Dennis Rodman was a crucial part of the success of the Chicago Bulls dynasty. Rodman used to dominate the game with his sensational ability to rebound the ball.
While Rodman once claimed that Scottie Pippen was the greatest player of all time, MJ was retired at the time. But when it came to Embiid saying Wilt is the GOAT, Rodman couldn’t hold back his anger, it seems.

Rodman wanted Embiid to focus on winning a ring instead of making these claims. He said in 2019, when Embiid was getting a lot of heat for not winning a ring. Fast forward to 2022, the big man is yet to win a championship. So Rodman’s comments stay true to this day.
