Kendrick Perkins Says James Harden Is A Better Player Than Stephen Curry

Who wants some more Kendrick Perkins? No worries, because he keeps delivering, even when fans don’t ask him to. The former center doesn’t stop with his hot takes and he recently dropped one that raised a lot of eyebrows around the league, as usual.

The 2008 NBA champion is convinced that James Harden is a better player than Stephen Curry. He dropped that bomb on ESPN’s First take, explaining why the Beard is a better player than the Golden State Warriors superstar.

“When I’m looking at all-around and the all-around player, the skill set and who brings more to the table, it’s James Harden,” Perkins said on ESPN. “It’s proven. When James Harden left Oklahoma City, by the way, he won Sixth Man of the Year playing with Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant. As soon as he stepped foot into the [Houston] Rockets franchise, he made that franchise relevant again, Max. And I’m not discrediting Steph. Steph is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. He’s a better all-around player than Steph Curry.”

Unlike Perkins, most analysts and fans don’t think Harden is actually better than Curry, not even after all the chances Harden had to defeat the Warriors and failed. When you talk about greatness in the current NBA, Curry is one of the first names that comes to your mind, no doubt about it. When you talk about choking or underperforming, Harden is one of the first players you think of.

He’s very talented, he’s one of the best players in the league, but to say he’s better than Curry is a little too much by Perkins. Curry has career averages of 23.5 points, 6.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds on 43.7 shooting from deep. Harden boasts 29.6 points, 7.7 assists and 6.0 rebounds per outing since he arrived in Houston.

If you take a look at their careers, there is no doubt who’s better between them, unless you are Kendrick Perkins.
