Kevin Durant Spotted Working Out With Jayson Tatum Amidst Links To Boston Celtics

Kevin Durant and his trade saga have taken a massive turn recently with the suggestions that Durant may be willing to threaten the Brooklyn Nets with retirement if he isn’t traded by the start of the season. That would be a drastic move but one that KD may feel he needs to make to ensure the Nets allow him to go somewhere else.

Out of all the possible trades on the table for KD, the team that seems to be in the best position is the Boston Celtics. The Celtics have reportedly already contacted the Nets for a package centered around Jaylen Brown to acquire KD. However, the Nets are waiting for the Celtics to sweeten their offer by adding reigning DPOY Marcus Smart.

Amid those rumors, the Celtics star that will most likely be Durant’s on-court partner was seen working out with KD in the summer. After attending Draymond Green’s wedding, Tatum has been snapped by Boston photographer Bred Hampton working out with Kevin Durant in Los Angeles.

With the rumors that are linking KD to Boston, it would be hard to believe that Tatum and he didn’t discuss possibly being teammates soon. Jaylen Brown has already expressed his disappointment in being the rumored name headed to Brooklyn for KD, so the morale in Boston if a trade isn’t made may be hard to work through.

Celtics head coach Ime Udoka was an assistant with the Nets and already has a rapport with KD, so if there is any KD trade that can be made in the short term, Boston would be the frontrunner for him. Even if a trade doesn’t materialize, both KD and Tatum can learn a lot from each other in practice before heading into the 2022-23 season.
