Kevin Garnett Denies Infamous Comments About La La Anthony Tasting Like 'Honey Nut Cheerios': "I’ve Never Said Anything To Melo About La La. I’m A Frosted Flakes Man."

Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony once starred in a big controversy after the former allegedly told Melo his then-wife, La La Anthony, tasted like 'Honey Nut Cheerios.' Things got out of control at the moment, the situation escalated and Melo was suspended for an off-court altercation with KG.

During a January game in 2013 between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics, Garnett and Anthony exchanged words until things got really heated. They were separated by referees and teammates, trying to avoid a worse situation.

It was during that moment that Garnett allegedly told Melo that La La tasted like the famous cereal. Following the game, Anthony confronted Garnett, which led to his suspension.

Eight years after that infamous incident, KG broke his silence, saying he never said those words to Melo, even stating he's a Frosted Flakes guy.

Then Garnett touches on one of his more notorious skirmishes, the time he allegedly said some very personal things about Carmelo Anthony’s then wife, La La, during a game: “I’ve never said anything about anyone’s family. I’ve never said anything to Melo about La La. I’m a Frosted Flakes man. I’m not a Honey Nut Cheerios guy. I never knew where that came from. Let me clear that up.”

One year after that incident, La La herself cleared the air and said that KG never said those things to her ex-husband. In her book, the TV personality stated that Garnett said some things that Melo didn't like, but nothing about her.

“I wasn’t ever going to bring up the Honey Nut Cheerios incident again. But, since I’m writing this book, I might as well set the record straight for good,’’ LaLa wrote in her book “The Love Playbook," via Marc Berman of the New York Post. “Kevin Garnett in fact had never said that I tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios. I tried to figure out how this big lie was turned into a media firestorm. I still can’t answer that one. … Melo and Kevin are cool today. And now it’s nothing but a faint memory.’’

That was just a rumor that blew up. Seeing that two of the biggest names in the game were involved, the media took it to the next level. It's been almost 10 years and people still wonder what really happened during that game.

Melo was visibly upset with Garnett and seeing how he reacted after the game, we're pretty sure the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves didn't use kind words when addressing the then New York Knicks star.
