Kyrie Irving is one of the most outspoken players in the game together. Irving rarely holds his tongue if he feels like there is something unfair or unjust happening to him, as he showed last season by sitting out most of the year because of the vaccination mandate. He ended up being right as New York lifted the mandate, and Irving could return to playing without getting the shot.
Outside that, there are a lot of other things that Irving feels passionately about. He infamously proclaimed the world is flat and often shares extremely cryptic tweets or Instagram posts reflecting on the events of the world. However, his latest Instagram post may be more controversial than anyone would like.
Kyrie reshared a 2002 clip from controversial political figure Alex Jones. Jones is talking about how diseases are being released into the system by the ‘new world order’. Jones is currently in a lawsuit for spreading misinformation about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, calling it a hoax, and then being sued by the parents of the children who were hurt that day.
“There is a tyrannical organization calling itself the New World Order…by releasing diseases and viruses and plagues upon us, we then basically get shoved into their system”

Is Kyrie Irving Distracted Or Focused On Basketball?
As a public figure, Kyrie needs to be careful of the sources he shares stuff from, considering the platform he has. Alex Jones is in the middle of a misinformation lawsuit, so it may not be the best time to spread his ideas to his followers, especially when it’s an unsubstantiated theory about a possible ‘new world order’.
This 2022-23 season is crucial for the Brooklyn Nets to remain a relevant threat in the eastern Conference. After a tumultuous summer, the team will be hoping they can get just get Kyrie, Kevin Durant, and Ben Simmons on the court together.
Durant’s failed trade request, Kyrie not getting an extension, and Simmons’s injury issues are the biggest worries for the Nets at the moment. They don’t need to worry about Kyrie’s political beliefs even further. As long as he shows up and helps them win games, they will not care about the messages he is sharing on Instagram.
