LeBron James had a stellar 46-point performance against the Los Angeles Clippers tonight, even though his team fell to a nearly 20-point loss. This was the Lakers’ 10th consecutive loss against the Clippers and it’s almost impossible to say LeBron was at fault for this loss. He was engaged defensively and was on an offensive tear the entire night.

Though LeBron has already spoken about his dislike for reaching personal milestones in losses, he did that once again as his 46-ball against the Clippers means he is officially the only player in NBA history to have scored 40 points against all 30 teams in the league.

LeBron’s longevity is just looking more and more incredible by the day, though it’s likely the recognition passes him by due to the lack of wins in LA. Hopefully, Rob Pelinka follows through on making more trades after doing solid business to acquire Rui Hachimura.

Is LeBron James Wasting His Time In LA?

Seeing the incredible scoring averages from LeBron James this late in his career, especially since his 38th birthday makes everyone wonder if he’s doing a disservice to himself by tolerating what the Lakers are doing. However, he has to take the blame as well due to failed roster moves like acquiring Russell Westbrook.

The team should do a better job of capitalizing on his current form and giving him the roster to try and win with their remaining assets. He is doing everything capable to keep them in the playoff hunt, imagine what can he do if another title is possible for the franchise. Nobody in 2027 or 2029 that the Lakers could draft is going to be as excellent as LeBron, so maybe they need to use those picks in a trade sooner rather than later.
